Letter to a terrorist

The affluent ignore
The poor and neglected

Social injustice, flagrant excess
Arrogant waste and blind ignorance

Cry for attention, claim retribution
Result of disaffection

On land with no owners
Fingers of blame

Flaming grilled cocktails
A recipe for anarchy we’re baking

From the web of knowledge
An applet stolen

To you and I God has spoken
“Eden no more”

I am very impressed! This piece is really well done, it really made me think.

cool thanks:)
i don't know what causes people to take up terrorism, but i'm sure it has something to do with so many people in the world being poor and neglected. more people are able to log on to the web and see what they are missing out on in their homelands. it must make some people irate at what they perceive of the western lifestyle. how better to get attention than throw a 'tantrum bomb'? and now because of our society's neglect to help our fellow kind, we have created a terrible monster. we both have committed sin, in anyone's language. and now i wonder if we can take the initiative to correct the problem. it's a very big and confusing issue, and much of it comes down to education in some form. and then i had to go and become a teacher and now it really is my problem. and that's half the problem - no one sees it as their problem. everyone is too busy trying to live and sort their own life, feeling helpless to contribute to society and effect any change, and so we all complain that life is too hard and get emotional and reactionary, when we should be looking past the end of our own noses and taking an active role in society. society has lost its inspiration. and only we can give it back.
(btw my favourite bit was when i came up with the applet on the web of knowledge in the garden of eden analogy)

A lot of that comes through in the poem:) But left enough out to make you contemplate things yourself, which is always good:) I liked the applet bit too:)

when i read my comment above afterward, i thought, why did i write all that crap when i said it much better in fewer words in the original post? to this i have no useful answer :)
